Reservation is one of the key elements in a hotel program like Hotelizer. The reservation contains basic information such as its code, date and time the reservation was made, source, and of course one or more stays (rooms).
We have made a basic choice in Hotelizer and we treat the reservation as a group for the following reasons:
Every single reservation could turn into a group reservation.
Many bookings from the channels (eg Booking.com etc.) come as group with a specific booking code.
We can easily add one or more rooms to a reservation that concerns the same company
Each room (stay) in a reservation can have different duration and information
It is easier to see and manage cases where we have made a split. When a customer stays in one room and we transfer him to another for various reasons such as because we do an upgrade.
Pricing is easier and better manageable
We can make a mass arrival & departure of a reservation with many rooms
Each booking has at least one stay (room). There cannot be accommodation that does not belong to a reservation. Changes that are made on the stays and mainly concern prices & condition, also inform the reservation. For example if you change prices in a room then this action will affect the whole booking. If you change the status of the stay by checking in then the reservation will be updated accordingly.
The accommodations are the ones that will appear in the Calendar but also in several lists such as arrivals & departures, cleaning, etc.
Each stay has more information in addition to the reservation:
Guest details
Room type & room (if the allocation has been made)
Dates & arrival/departure time
Persons , adults & children
Rates & board
Price
Tasks & preferences
Reservation status (Confirmed, In House etc.)
